Meet Our Staff!

Milner Martin
Milner holds a Bachelor’s degree in theatre from North Greenville University with an emphasis in technical theatre. He was raised “in the steamer trunk” on tour.  Milner has been touring with The Baillie Players since he was a baby… Buren has passed down the company to Milner and he is now continuing on the family legacy of producing children’s theatre in schools across the southeast. He has performed in over 1,000 1-act performances with The Baillie Players… As well as directed over 1,000 shows across 80 different schools.
Payton Benandi
The Baillie Players met Payton in Morgan City, Louisiana, at the Tri-City Youth Theatre back in 2006. Payton grew up onstage participating in our drama residencies for 7 years. She has performed numerous roles for us, including: “The Lion” in The Wizard of Oz, and “Wendy” in Practically Peter Pan… When she aged out, she became a director and helped direct many productions at the Tri-City Youth Theatre with us. She is now packing her bags and moving to South Carolina to join The Baillie Players in the Winter of 2023! We are excited for her to join our team! Payton holds a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from South Louisiana Community College.
Noel Crosby (College Student Intern)
Noel grew up in Hampton County, South Carolina. Just like many of the students involved in our drama residencies, she participated in our productions when she went to Brunson Elementary School. During her time there, she played various different roles. Her most prominent role was “The Artful Dodger” in Oliver Twist. It has always been one of her dreams to work alongside The Baillie Players and do what she loved to do as a child! Noel is currently studying Health Administration with a minor in Education at Ogeechee Technical College.
Buren Martin (Milner’s Father/Founder of TBP)
Buren is the founder and owner of The Baillie Players. While he is reaching close to retirement, he is still cranking on… Buren continues to work with high schools on their Shakespearean productions. Mr. Martin holds a master’s degree in theatre with an emphasis in playwriting and direction from the University of South Carolina. He worked for many years in public education as a high school teacher, and as an elementary and high school principal. Buren’s theatre experience is varied. He has over 3000 performance credits in over 175 different productions, many written by himself… Including two shows in New York, Off-Broadway: Whatever Happened to ‘Chinese’ Baker, in 1990… and, Relative Madness in 1991.

Dorothy Martin (Milner’s Mother)
Dottie holds a theatre degree from Columbia College. After college, she worked for fifteen years as a professional touring theatre actress. Later, she worked in public education as a high school drama teacher. In addition, she has worked with over 150 schools in four states as a consultant helping elementary, middle, and high school drama teachers mount professional quality musical and drama productions. She worked with The Baillie Players from 1981 to 2021.
Tim Brosnan
Mr. Brosnan toured with Buren Martin and The Baillie Players as a touring manager, director, playwright, music composer, and as an actor from 1990 to 1995. Tim Brosnan wrote several of our traditional musicals including: “Practically Peter Pan,” “The Ransom of Red Chief,” and “Rudolph Rides Again.” Mr. Brosnan went on to do several other theatrical gigs later on… Including, but not limited to: Marketing Director at Centre Stage in Greenville and other freelance theatrical jobs, Video editing work, web design, and many other creative gigs.
